Alan Stacey is a materials conservation specialist, trained in both an indentured five year apprenticeship as well as at Salisbury College, England.  Alan achieved distinction in his City & Guilds diploma. (1983)  Since this time Alan has worked in the conservation field in England, working with such collections as the 19th century ships models collections for the National Martine Museum, Greenwich, London, as well as 18th and 19th century tortoiseshell and ivory works of art and fine antique furniture collections in London.  Alan was schooled in the conservation approach to the care and maintenance of artifacts, including historic buildings. Alan’s knowledge base includes traditional joinery and building techniques as well as traditional historic finish conservation/restoration He is a long standing member of The British Antique Restorers Association serving as a member of the Board of Directors for a number of years.

Kathy Stacey was education in biological sciences at Kings College, London, England. She then worked in facilities management for the Culture and Recreation department for the City of London (UK).  In 1990 she formed a conservation consultation partnership with Alan Stacey and worked as a manager of historic collections conservation.  She is a heritage conservation project management specialist with responsibility for writing conservation reports, acquiring of, interpreting and inclusion of Canadian Conservation Institute (CCI) reports, cost analysis/project budgeting, time and resource management.  Kathy has a good working knowledge of both the Standards and Guidelines for the Conservation of Historic Places in Canada as well as the Ontario Heritage Act.  She is able to complete measured hand drawings using traditional drafting techniques.  She is also fluent in the use of Auto Cad and has a good working knowledge and understanding of the Ontario building code, including section 11 as it applies to existing buildings including heritage buildings.
